Why is reducing notification time important?
Research shows traditional 911 calls can take 4 – 11 minutes to process, and even more time for first responders to physically arrive on scene. By instantaneously notifying trained first responders nearby, Guard911 can dramatically reduce notification time – increasing the chance of saving lives during emergency situations.
How does the Guard911 app work?
When an emergency occurs and a user activates the panic button:
1. An alert is instantaneously sent to nearby first responders of the Hero911 Network.
2. The app notifies 911 dispatchers.
3. Other users at the protected location receive the emergency notification.
4. Nearby Guard911 protected properties within a 5 mile radius are also alerted in case the threat moves.

Is any hardware required?
No. The app is available for mobile devices and desktop computers. No hardware is necessary.
Do users need to download more than one app?
No. Only one Guard911 emergency alert app (SchoolGuard, Guard911, or CampusGuard911) is used by users at a protected location. If you’re a first responder, you use the free Hero911 Network app to receive and respond to alerts.
How long does it take to set up?
Most locations can be set up in 24 – 48 hours, after the initial signup by the customer.
