Tom Swip is the Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Guard911. As a founding member, Tom and his team spearheaded the development of the innovative and life-saving Guard911 and Hero911 Network apps.
Tom has always been an entrepreneur. He started his first company when he was 9 years old, washing windows for local businesses on Main St. in his hometown. Tom has run many other successful businesses. He is also an Eagle Scout. Tom has worked for United Postal Service (UPS) as an Industrial Engineer. His responsibilities included implementing the first ever nationwide implementation of package barcoding, the tablets that UPS drivers still carry today, and the nationwide wireless network in UPS trucks.
Tom is the founder of the Midwest Manufacturing Leaders, a 10,000 member national organization with a mission of bringing manufacturing back to the Midwest to strengthen the Midwest economy. He is a member of the Entrepreneur’s Organization, an international group of business owners, The Entrepreneurship Institute, a nonprofit that helps companies grow, the Association for Corporate Growth, a national group of leaders in mid-market business activities, and the Leadership Council of Southwestern Illinois, a group that develops the economic agenda for the Metro East Region.
Tom continues to play a vital role in the research and development of features and updates to ensure the Guard911 and Hero911 services allow for the fastest, most effective communication possible with law enforcement professionals.
