School Violence Prevention Program (SVPP) Grants are Open for 2025
The School Violence and Prevention Program grant applications are now being accepted by the Department of Justice. These grants can be used to cover many expenses for safety programs and products for schools and public buildings.
A free webinar will be offered on May 8, 2025 to help applicants learn more about the process. SF-424 forms must be submitted by Wednesday June 18, 2025, with final submission due Thursday June 26, 2025.
The Guard911 family of mobile emergency alert apps is also available via these grants.
Who Can Apply for the SVPP Grants?
School Violence and Prevention Program grants for school safety for K-12 schools and public buildings are available for:
- Law Enforcement Agencies
- State Law Enforcement Agencies
- State and Local Governments
- Schools and School Districts
- Federally Recognized Indian Tribes and their Public Agencies
- Public Government Agencies
How Much Money is Available?
SVPP offers grants up to $500,000 for a 36 month funding period. The Department of Justice has up to $73 million available to fund initiatives throughout the United States.
What Can We Do With SVPP Funds?
School Violence Protection Program Funds can be used to fund many programs and services for school safety in K-12 schools. This includes:
- Technology for expedited notification of local law enforcement during an emergency, including the Guard911 family of mobile emergency alert apps
- Coordination with law enforcement
- Training for law enforcement
- Metal detectors, locks, lighting, and other deterrents
